TOP Testing Suite - Installation Instructions

TOP Testing Suite is contained in a JAR archive file. The file is named TOP-Testing-Suite-1.2.1-evaluation.jar and measures approx 24MB. TOP-TESTING SUITE is Java-based software, and can be used on any Java enabled platform. The software has been successfully tested on Windows XP and Vista, several Linux environments (Fedora Core, Ubuntu, CentOS 5) and Solaris 10. In order to install and run the tool Java JRE 5.0 or greater is required.

To start the installation:

1. Click on the Download button which you can find on the Download Page. The File Download window appears.
2. Click Open or save the download file to a location on your computer by clicking Save As and then manually open the file. The Installation window opens. Click Next to enter the installation procedure.
3. Click Next, after you have agreed upon the terms of the license agreement.
4. Click Next to accept the default installation path C:\Program Files\TOP Testing Suite.
   Alternatively, click Browse to select another installation path, and click Next.
5. Select the packs you want to install. The JMeter and Base packs are required by default. In addition you can select and install additional protocol packs (for example the CORBA, Diameter, or Telnet protocol packs). Click Next to start the installation of the packs.
6. Click Next after the installation of the packs has successfully finished.
7. In the last step you can choose where to put which shortcuts for starting TOP Testing Suite. Click Next. Installation is now complete.

Run TOP Testing Suite on Windows

• Choose Programs > CTT > CTT from the Start Menu.
• Double click on the file jmeterw.cmd in the bin installation directory or run the command from the Command Prompt window.

Run TOP Testing Suite on Linux/UNIX

• Run one of the following shell commands jmeterw.sh or jmeter-computaris.

Using TOP Testing Suite

Using the evaluation version you can:

• Fully experience TOP Testing Suite - Graphical User Interface.
• Examine and execute a test plan based on a semi-complex test scenario.
• Build a new test tree using predefined and preconfigured test elements.
• Execute and save test plans.
• Monitor and view the results of a test run.
