February 19, 2010 - Computaris has been once again present at Mobile World Congress Barcelona (February 15-18, 2010), the most important international telecom event which gathered this year more than 49.000 people with a unique relationship to the mobile industry from 200 countries. Although our team represented us recurrently at this event, in order to acknowledge our place as a serious player in the mobile ecosystem, this year Computaris participated at MWC Barcelona as an exhibitor.
This year’s show was marked by business optimism. Although, at its heart MWC is all about phones and gadgets, other areas were also on the “Wall”. Behind the exposition floor, discussions focused a lot on the economic and social impact that mobility is having on the developing world. Some big brands present at the show from outside Europe, North America or developed markets emphasized how the mobile industry is growing, diversifying and globalizing. MWC Barcelona was once again around “the cloud” (the mobile internet). It seems that the mobile industry is going through a major transition from being voice-centric to data-centric, from consumers spending most of their time talking on the phone to a significant portion of their time (now upwards of 80% in some markets) on new services driven by data and online content. Mobile continues to grow in strategic importance and is at an interesting cross-road where digital content, the Internet, faster mobile networks, better phones, and heightened consumer awareness/engagement are coming together to fuel some very dramatic growth.
We were fortunate to meet all our business partners and clients, with whom we have built long term relations by gratifying their needs at every stage of a project life cycle. As Computaris is always open to cooperation and willing to provide its profound technical expertise and cost-effective services both to operators and to software vendors, a lot of potential collaborations began on the exposition floor.
This event is considered to be a success for Computaris, that could lead the path towards new opportunities and higher peaks.
